Wil Baxley is a 2005 graduate
of Fairmont High School in Fairmont, North
Carolina. Wil’s advisors were Chip Lewis
and Paul Littlejohn. He is the son of
Ronnie and Nancy Baxley. He is currently a
junior at North Carolina State University
majoring in agricultural education with a
concentration in horticulture.
During his high school FFA
career Wil participated in numerous career
development events as well as leadership
activities. His most memorable experience
was competing in the land judging career
development event his junior year and
traveling to the National contest in
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. While serving as
chapter Chaplain and Vice President and
Federation Treasurer he attended several
leadership workshops as well as State and
National conventions. He is the proud
recipient of his chapter’s Dekalb
agricultural leadership award, the
outstanding chapter member award and the
Greenhand, Chapter, and State FFA Degree.
He will receive his American degree at the 80th
National FFA Convention. He has continued
his dedication to the FFA by serving on camp
staff at the North Carolina FFA Center at
White Lake in 2006.
Wil’s Supervised Agricultural
Experience (SAE) program was in the area of
sheep production in which he raised sheep on
his family’s farm. After graduating from
high school he continued his experience by
working with the educational greenhouses at
North Carolina State University.
Wil is a member of the First
Baptist Church where he is active in the
youth group and participated in several
mission trips by attending world changers
with his church. Wil is also a member
of the Agricultural Education and Extension
Club and Horticulture Club at NC State.
Wil is extremely excited to
serve North Carolina and its FFA members as
a state officer. He hopes to let others
know the importance of the agriculture
industry to North Carolina and encourages
members to take part in the opportunities
that the organization offers.
