Wil Baxley is a 2005 graduate of Fairmont High School in Fairmont, North Carolina.  Wil’s advisors were Chip Lewis and Paul Littlejohn.  He is the son of Ronnie and Nancy Baxley.  He is currently a junior at North Carolina State University majoring in agricultural education with a concentration in horticulture.

During his high school FFA career Wil participated in numerous career development events as well as leadership activities.  His most memorable experience was competing in the land judging career development event his junior year and traveling to the National contest in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  While serving as chapter Chaplain and Vice President and Federation Treasurer he attended several leadership workshops as well as State and National conventions.  He is the proud recipient of his chapter’s Dekalb agricultural leadership award, the outstanding chapter member award and the Greenhand, Chapter, and State FFA Degree. He will receive his American degree at the 80th National FFA Convention.  He has continued his dedication to the FFA by serving on camp staff at the North Carolina FFA Center at White Lake in 2006.

Wil’s Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program was in the area of sheep production in which he raised sheep on his family’s farm.  After graduating from high school he continued his experience by working with the educational greenhouses at North Carolina State University.

Wil is a member of the First Baptist Church where he is active in the youth group and participated in several mission trips by attending world changers with his church.  Wil is also a member of the Agricultural Education and Extension Club and Horticulture Club at NC State.

Wil is extremely excited to serve North Carolina and its FFA members as a state officer.  He hopes to let others know the importance of the agriculture industry to North Carolina and encourages members to take part in the opportunities that the organization offers.
