Crystal is a 2006 graduate of North Buncombe High School in Weaverville, North Carolina.  Her FFA advisor was Mr. Flake Brantley.  She is the daughter of Kenneth and Carol Roberts.  Crystal is currently a sophomore at North Carolina State University majoring in animal science.

During high school Crystal participated in numerous career development events including livestock evaluation, forestry, floriculture, and horse judging.  Crystal had the opportunity to serve as a North Carolina delegate in 2005 at the National FFA Convention.  She was a leader in her chapter serving as Vice President and President and Western Region President where she helped to organize the first barbeque and social activity for members.

Crystal credits much of his life experience to the time she spent working on her family’s farm.  Her Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) is in beef production entrepreneurship where she helps to manage her family’s thirty head of registered angus cow-calf herd as well as working to build her own small herd.  In addition to helping with the day to day farm maintenance and chores Crystal helps to regulate the overall herd health program and nutrition.

Crystal attends Locust Grove Baptist Church where she works in the nursery.  She values the support of her church family as well as the example of faith that they have set for her.

As state Vice President Crystal looks to provide support for the growing programs in North Carolina as well as encouraging FFA members to reach their own potential through service leadership.  Crystal is proud to be a North Carolina FFA member – where members truly embody our state’s motto “To be rather than to seem.”
